Motivation is “a desire or willingness to do something”. We become motivated when “the pain of not doing becomes greater than the pain of doing”(The War of Art).Motivation needs to be scheduled.If you hope you are going to exercise tomorrow,it probably won’t happen.If you schedule your exercise at a specific time each day,it is most likely you will exercise.Two friends of mine go to the gym or walk immediately after finishing work each day.They say it helps them de-stress before relaxing or dealing with family commitments.The same goes for meal planning,if you schedule a grocery shop twice a week and have a meal plan you will be less likely to call a takeaway!Habits are like Rituals that will ring fence your motivation.A Ritual is any act done regularly.Healthy eating and exercise need to become your daily Health Rituals! The Book ‘Coffee Self-Talk ‘by Kristin Helmsletter is a good book to help you kickstart your life goals!
