Emotional Reset

Sometimes you can be going great-fitness,foodwise,everywise and then you hit a roadblock.It could be anything;a health issue,work issue,a family matter and you are suddenly the small boat that has been completely blown off course!I have to admit I have had a bit of a week like that!Thankfully it does not happen often!What do you do when this happens?When you have gained some composure,take a few deep breaths,get some space to yourself and do some short meditation.It could be as simple as closing your eyes in a quiet room and taking some deep breaths,breathing in to the count of four and breathing out to the count of six.Play some gentle music in the background if it helps to concentrate.Repeat a single word to yourself such as ‘peace’ or the Aramaic word ‘Maranatha ‘ to help you focus.This will help you to emotionally reset.Also write down your feelings about what is bothering you in a Journal.By being aware of your feelings ,you will be less likely to emotionally comfort eat or ditch your exercise .Two books that I have found to help in the last week are ‘The Gift- 12 lessons to save your life’ by Edith Eger https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1846046270 ,also available at http://www.easons.com Another book that I find good is ‘The Healing Habit’ by Daniel O’Leary,a small book with many nuggets of wisdom!https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1782183086/
